If you looked around online recently, there's a chance that you saw these incredibly cool, reportedly delicious, and absolutely colorful rainbow bagels.

However, it looks like all of that attention actually closed the store!

The brightly colored bagels attracted so many people to Brooklyn that the New York Bakery had to close the shop indefinitely - something that longtime fans of the chain worried about.

The insane amount of publicity boosted their sales, and the owners now have to go into renovations. While a sign on the door promises that they will open in a few days, it is likely that they will need more time.

The Bagel Store also posted the announcement on their Facebook page and referred followers to their second location. However, one has to worry that the same thing will happen there.

“We got slammed like you cannot believe,” Francine LaBarbara, The Bagel Store’s marketing coordinator tells Gothamist, adding the bakery has sold 800 of the coveted bagels every day for weeks. “I’m going to say it’s been crazy since Christmas.”

The hope is that they will be able to improve their space and traffic flow within the store.

“We needed to revisit everything that’s happening, to make the shop better …The Graham location has been slammed. We really needed to take a second to regroup, and we can’t wait to open the Bedford location to alleviate things,” says LaBarbara. “Everything had to be redone, to make sure we were okay. It’s really just basic maintenance.”

There has been no announcement as to when the store will open, now is probably the best time for the store to do so, as winter tends to be a slower time in New York - but obviously not slow enough.
