Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G/4G Goes on Sale March 11

The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G/4G will be available at T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T.

Beginning Friday, March 11, the Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G/4G will be on sale at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon stores. Utilizing connected functionality consumers will have the ability to call, text, email and receive notifications directly from their watch without the need of a smartphone. The Apple Watch requires an iPhone for communications.

The Gear S2 classic 3G/4G features a leather band and a rotating-bezel design to navigate through their notifications, apps and widgets.

“By bringing together fashionable design and connected functionality, this smartwatch gives consumers the freedom to leave their phones behind while enjoying a stylish, classic design,” said Gary Riding, senior vice president, product marketing at Samsung Electronics America.

Samsung did not announce pricing and the Wireless providers will confirm pricing and availability.

The Tizen based smartwatch features a 1.2" OLED screen and runs on a dual core CPU. Other features include 4GB storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 2 to 3 day battery life.

The regular Gear S2 went on sale in October of last year.
