The act of 'bravado' was caught on camera and concerned animal rights groups.

A man pulled a shark out of the ocean in Florida and took pictures with it.

The shirtless man dragged a juvenile shark from the Palm Beach waters with bare hands, grabbed the helpless creature for several minutes and posed for selfies and videos for the beachgoers.

After a minute or so, another man dragged the shark back into the waves but the animal was still seen struggling to return to the ocean.

Tens of thousands of blacktip sharks have been spotted at the beaches of Florida since they are invading the waters of Palm Beach as a part of their seasonal migration and are swimming along the shoreline. But the man seen in the video has just distracted one of them.

The incident may be entertainment for the public but animal rights organizations are condemning this behavior of the beachgoers.

Ashleigh Walter, a reporter from WPTV Channel 5 has filmed the brutal incident on Palm Beach and shared it on her Facebook account.

“This terribly unfortunate event is an example of the casual cruelty people can inflict when they use animals for entertainment purposes, without thinking of the animals need.” Walter told ABC.

Dragging a shark in this manner is not only harmful for the animal itself but is dangerous for the people too. These sharks are known for their aggressive nature and have a track record of biting beachgoers close to the shore.

“There are literary tens of thousands of sharks a stone’s throw away from our shoreline. You could throw a pebble and literary strike a shark. They are that close.” Professor Stephen Kajiura from Florida Atlantic University who is currently studying the migration patterns of the sharks said in a statement.
