Huntsville Alabama, your time has come! This city will join the highly exclusive club of cities that will get Google's Fiber Internet network, according to a report from Fortune.

Starting the middle of 2017, Google will begin to provide internet to the citizens at a speed of 1 gigabit per second to homes, small businesses, and mid-sized businesses in Huntsville. In about four years, it will be available across the city. This project has been in the works for some time now, and it is something the mayor wanted to do for the citizens.

Launched in 2012, Google Fiber is already available in Kansas City, Mo., Provo, Utah, Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Ga. It also has plans to expand to a handful of additional cities including San Antonio, Texas, Nashville, Tenn., and Charlotte, N.C.

In Huntsville's case, Google will be partnering with Huntsville Utilities to provide the internet to the city. They have already begun to invest in the infrastructure. Huntsville Utilities will actually be the owners of the fiber network and will lease it to Google Fiber. The city will spend around $60 million to set it up, but are expected to make it back through the rental.

Though there aren't any price points available yet, the routine prices in other cities are around $70 per month for gigabit internet and $130 for internet and cable services.
