The secret performance of Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl at the Oscars 2016 was very touching.

Dave Grohl surprised at the Oscars 2016 with his emotional performance during the part of The Academy Award show where Hollywood remembers the the ones who died the past year. Dave Grohl played the guitar and sang the Beatles' classic Blackbird in memoriam of Alan Rickman, Leonard Nimoy, Holly Woodlawn, Omar Sharif and David Bowie amongst others of the entertainment industry that passed away the last 12 months.

The Academy Award producers had here a great idea to invite somebody that is known for powerful rock to deliver a soft and emotional song in memoriam. As reported, The Academy kept Dave Grohl's performance a secret.

There is no officially released clip of Dave Grohl performing Blackbird at the Oscars 2016, but fans have uploaded screen grabs from the broadcast on Youtube. Watch one below. It is not clear how long this clip stay online.
