Samsung Introduces Its Dual-pixel 12MP Sensorx

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are both filled with surprise. Since the day both handsets have been unveiled by the company, we are hearing about them in the news every day.

Samsung has stated that the 12MP camera of the Smartphones has 12 million phase detection agents.

This is why the S7 camera and every other detail associated with the photography have been grabbing us for long.

Until now, we were confirmed that the sensor used in the flagship duo was Sony's IMX260.

However, Samsung has just announced that it has its own imager in production with the same capabilities.

In today’s Samsung announcement, the company has unveiled that its own sensor has the same 12MP, dual-pixels for PDAF, and 1.4 micron pixel size.

There is even ISOCELL tech, which stands for isolated individual pixels to help reduce color cross talk.

The press release didn’t state that the sensor in question is the part of the Samsung Galaxy S7 duo.

But, it is already in production and as per our modest guesses it is the part of the flagships.

Samsung has previously used Sony sensors in some devices while other came with its own sensors.

Samsung Galaxy S6 however used the Sony sensor and we can expect Samsung to use its own sensors in future smartphones.
