Updated Versions of the Mercedes-Benz CLA and CLA Shooting Brake Revealed

The face-lifted versions of the two new cars will hold their official debuts at the New York Motor Show.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated versions of the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake. The reveal comes before the public debut of the cars at the New York Motor Show. The PR shows that the changes to the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake are predictably subtle.

The changes range from mild exterior styling tweaks to revised interior trims. Similarly the connectivity and engine options have been updated. The CLA 45 4Matic also has an updated turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

The engine is capable of delivering an added 21bhp taking the total to 376bhp. The CLA 180 Shooting Brake will offer a Renault-sourced turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine is capable of producing 120bhp.

The 2016 CLA is also fitted with a new grille which gives it a visually different look than the previous model. The grille features diamond-shaped elements and a re-profiled front bumper.

The bumper is featured in either a silver, black or chrome highlight. The CLA will also offer five different optional 18in alloy wheel designs. A new blue metallic exterior colour is also offered for the updated version of the CLA.

The interior of the CLA also boasts revised instruments and a new range of seat upholstery. The optional 8.0in infotainment screen has been slimmed further. The CLA updates also add Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto as part of its enhancements.

Both CLA and CLA Shooting Brake will be available for order by April 2016. The cars will arrive in dealerships by the end of July 2016.
