LG stunned at the CES 2016 with an 8K TV with 98-inch screen size. LG said at the CES that this TV monster would go on sale in 2016.

The incredible 98-inch LG 98UH9800 8K UHD TV debuting at CES 2016 leads our Hottest Gadgets of 2016 listing, but has now gone missing. LG said in the CES announcement that the LG 98UH9800 will begin shipping on the second half of 2016.

There was a page on the LG site where interested consumers could sign-up to get more details in this ultra high-end Television. Now that page is gone and searches on lg.com for 8k or 98UH9800 lead to no results. The LG 98UH9800 has disappeared from LG's product catalog.

If this is only temporary or if LG has scrapped plans to bring the LG 98UH9800 to the market is unclear at the moment. We have reached out to LG, but have not heard back yet.

LG has not revealed much about the 98UH9800 at the CES 2016. The 98UH9800 uses not an OLED display. It is based on an IPS LCD display with LG ColorPrime Plus technology.
