9.7-inch iPad Pro Price Starts at $599 with Improved Camera

New report claims that the new smaller iPad Pro will start at $599, $200 less than its big brother.

The Apple Media event on March 21 is expected to introduce a new iPad Pro with a smaller screen. Mark Gurman at 9to5Mac reports that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will start at 599. This is $200 less than the 12.9-inch Pad Pro 32GB.

The $100 higher price compared to the iPad Air 2 makes sense as customers get more performance, improved multi-touch and more storage.

With the 9.7-inch iPad Pro customers get the same features available in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Apple is rumored to offer a better camera in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro than in the bigger model. According to 9to5Mac the small iPad Pro will feature 12MP camera found in the iPhone 6S. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a 8MP sensor.

I could imagine that Apple will also update the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with this new camera just for consistency.

Besides the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Apple is said to unveil to much talked about 4-inch iPhone SE. There are also supposed to be new Apple Watch models. We don't expect any Mac or MacBook announcement. These will come at the WWDC 2016 likely scheduled for June.

The Apple Media Event on March 21 at the Apple headquarters in Cupertino begins at 10am PDT. There will be a live online stream available of the event. Apple is expected to unveil the 4-inch iPhone SE, a new small iPad Pro and new Apple Watch models.
