Acura announced the Performance Manufacturing Center will begin production of the Acura NSX supercar.

The next-generation Acura NSX supercar is finally here. The NSX will start rolling out of the factories by the end of April 2016. Acura also announced the Performance Manufacturing Center has begun production of the NSX.

Customer deliveries will start as soon as Acura NSX arrives in dealerships. The PMC is the exclusive global manufacturing facility for the all-new Acura NSX supercar.

According to Acura at the facility they combine human craftsmanship and technological innovation. The PMC utilizes new approaches to vehicle construction, paint, assembly.

The NSX will be built by the PMC entirely in-house. The PMC is a manufacturing facility designed around the NSX’s unique Multi-Material Body design.

Acura NSX will also be developed using the aluminum-intensive space-frame design. The Acura PMC facility employs approximately 100 associates that will assist in the NSX production.

The Acura NSX will come featuring a twin turbocharged V-6 engine. However the engine is developed at another facility the Ohio engine plant near the PMC.

"All of the innovative thinking and hard work that has gone into the creation of this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has fulfilled our goal to build a supercar in America,” said Clement D’ Souza, the engineering large project leader of the PMC, who managed the creation of the facility.

"The incredible passion and challenging spirit of our highly skilled associates enabled us to develop and build a new supercar factory from the ground up simultaneously with the ground up creation of an incredible new supercar in the Acura NSX.”

According to Acura the PMC will use Precision robotic weld technology. The tech will allow the development of the aluminum intensive space frame.

Similarly the multi-material space frame will be developed using 100-percent robotic MIG welding. It will take 14 hours at the PMC to assemble a single Acura NSX super car.

The Acura NSX super car is available for order online for a price tag of $157,800. An additional $1,800 delivery fee may also apply.
