Uber and Vernee Partner for Uber Phone Thor

Chinese smartphone startup Vernee announces an Uber phone based on the Vernee Thor.

Chinese smartphone startup Vernee raised attention with the Vernee Apollo high performance smartphone. The Vernee Apollo stuns with MediaTek Helio X20 CPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Update 04/04/16: Uber users get the Vernee Thor for $99.99 now.

Update: Vernee Thor Uber Phone priced at $129.99.

Today the company unveiled some sort of partnership with Uber, the huge American ride sharing network. It is not quite clear what the partnership incorporates. The Vernee Thor smartphone, launching in April is featuring Uber in some way. The announcement is not clear on that.

The Vernee Thor is not as high-end as the Vernee Apollo. The Thor runs on an 8-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz CPU, 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. Other features of the Vernee Thor include 5-inch screen, 13MP camera, 5MP selfie-camera and 2,800mAh battery.

We reported a week ago that Vernee plans to release three smartphones in Spring of 2016.

There is no announcement by Uber on the Vernee Uber phone. We have requested more details from Vernee's PR representative on the Uber Vernee collaboration.
