  • A New Clip from Batman vs. Superman makes IMAX viewing a More Suitable Option

The clip emphasized the other details that were a part of the frame rather than the standard frame which is encouraging fans to view the movie in IMAX format.

What a great way to convince your fans to spend a little extra on the movie tickets. The average IMAX ticket costs a few bucks more than the average standard view setting in the cinema. The screens have been adapted to play the widescreen version over the years and the picture was expanded to cover the whole screen but that is all about to change.

Zac Snyder’s newest instalment of Batman vs. Superman has been shot in the IMAX version. That means that the camera and editing equipment were all IMAX enabled hence the screen had a wider resolution and included more than what could be viewed in the standard viewing format.

In a recent clip that was released on the movie’s official Twitter feed, there is a scene which has been titled the “Knightmare” in which Batman is scoping the area with binoculars.

At standard viewing, we could see an empty expanse of land after a devastating catastrophe with a crater in the distance and a fire further away, according to CinemaBlend.

The view slowly expands to the IMAX 1.9:1 view where the screen includes a wider and detailed landscape. And we are able to make more sense of the scene and then the screen expands more to the IMAX 1.43:1 format where we could see the skyscrapers and the remains of a destroyed spaceship. And we can assume this is the same devastation that was caused by Superman-Zod encounter in the last instalment.

The point that the studios have made here is the viewing the movie in IMAX is not just expanded picture but it also includes more details and offers more to the frame then what it does in the standard view.

So they are indirectly hinting to the audience to watch the movie in IMAX version to yield more out of the scene and enjoy the movie in a more expanded version. IMAX has been prominently promoted before for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
