Richard Belzer will come back for one episode.

According to an exclusive report from Entertainment Weekly, Richard Belzer will be returning to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has also played the character on ten other Law & Order series. Belzer started playing Munch in 1993 on Homicide: Life on the Street.

While the beloved original cast member retired during season 15, he will guest star in a single episode in May. The episode will be entitled "Fashionable Crimes." He will reprise his role and weigh in on the case of a young model who has been lusted after and preyed upon by a famous fashion house photographer. The photographer apparently has been seedy for a while, and the case is personal for Fin (Ice-T) and Munch.

“We love having Richard back on set,” executive producer Warren Leight says. “This episode was perfect for Munch’s cynical eye, and just the right time for him to give Benson [Mariska Hargitay], and Noah, some much needed support.”

The regular season premiere of Law & Order: SVU will be this Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, where they will pick up on the cliffhanger from last season in which Olivia was ousted from SVU. Stay tuned for more scoop on what’s next!

Law & Order: SVU" was recently renewed for a landmark season 18, with many hoping it will break the mothership's previous record of 20 seasons.
