Apple Is Working On Smart Modular Bands For Apple Watch
Apple insider

Apple has filed in a new patent titled as ‘Modular functional band links for wearable devices’.

Apple considers the Apple Watch, the most personal device ever. This has provided us with the information that Apple shall be making smart modular bands for the Apple Watch.

This way all new available updated links can be worn or even detached from the band in any way or whenever the user of the watch wants to.

This leads to the fact that in the near future Apple could go forward with swappable designer bands that would have electronic modules in them and these links could be directly availed simply by attaching them into the port.

This shall enable extra functionality for the watch and the need to have new hardware after every little time would also be reduced.

The devices shall work in parallel and hence more than one function would be added at one time too.

A few other accessories have also been introduced which includes extra batteries, electric generators, GPS devices, camera modules and even BP and sweat detectors.

The same add on function has been partly seen in the iPad Pro where the Smart Connector port allows the user to add extra accessories at their own avail.

This has therefore brought forward the possibility to have a system that Apple has bought the patent for.

There is no news yet for this modular band to reach the market soon, but the new Apple Watch has been heard to come with updated internals and who knows these modular bands will also be the part of Apple's next smartwatch.
