Apple Stores To Ditch Plastic Bags In Favor Of Environmental Friendly Paper Bags

As soon as you hear about the Cupertino based company Apple, the next thing that comes to one’s mind is surely an iPad, an iPhone or the Apple Watch. However, Apple has changed things up a bit and is also focusing on becoming a green company.

Apple is on the way to becoming an eco friendly company and this has been seen by some steps that were introduced by Tim Cook in the ‘let us loop you in’ event. The company has made some changes and wants to do away with the plastic string line bags. In a recent note to its employees, Apple has said that the company shall be using paper bags instead. This is a recent initiative taken by the company in order to pay much attention to the environment we are living in too.

For those customers who have been buying their devices from the Apple store, the next time around they will notice that they shall not be receiving their devices in the plastic drawstring bag having the Apple logo in the center. They shall be getting their device in a paper bag that is made from eighty percent re-cycled materials from April 15th. However in contrast, employees are also told to do away with the exiting stock of plastic bags before using the paper bags solely for the purpose.

Apple employees are also told to ask the customers if they really want a bag for use or not. This has been introduced in order to reduce the amount of bags being used.

Well this practice is nothing new to people living in the UK who are already paying 0.05 p for each bag used.

The same is also being conducted at the Apple stores in California. Apple has also taken another initiative of replacing their Apple renew gift cards (which are used to renew their iPhones while giving them in for recycling) to be made from recycled paper from now on.

Lisa Jackson who is the Vice President of Apple’s Environment, Policy and Social initiatives sector has said that Apple is soon going to switch to all its packaging products being made from paper based materials.
