Adidas ZONE Wearable Fitness Tracker Unveiled

In an effort to help youngsters to stay fit and healthy, Adidas had last year teamed up with Interactive Health Technologies to provide a fitness assessment platform that shall be connected with schools in the US.

‘The Spirit Challenge’ therefore encourages children from kindergarten right up to high school to stay active.

The students then receive prizes, scholarships, equipment and other apparel for doing so.

This year Adidas has gone one step further to introduce the wrist wearable watch for physical education classrooms.

The device is known as Zone and it is heart rate monitor that shall be using the cloud network to share the student’s personal fitness information with teachers.

This way Adidas has given schools a solution to keep track of each student in accordance with the different health levels.

Adidas Zone is a uni-size watch that shall have features such as NFC for syncing in addition to the heart rate option.

The device has enough power and memory to support a busy school schedule, says Adidas.

Though the watch was announced today, yet the initiated program has already had a positive effect on schools.

That year in 2015, more than 600,000 students stayed connected to the IHT Spirit System.

This is a hundred and forty percent increment in comparison to the previous year.

Jen Ohlson who is the co-founder as well as the president of the Interactive Health Technologies says that with the addition of Zone to the IHT Spirit program they are aiming to reach 1 million nationwide students in 2016.
