Update 04/19: See the finished Peter Dinklage Wax Figure.

When Peter Dinklage received a letter that he had been selected to have himself transformed into a wax figure, he was completely surprised and said, “I had to look at it a few times to make sure it was to the right person. It was a great honor, but just something you hadn’t thought of before. It was incredible.”

Madame Tussauds San Francisco released the first look at images and video of its expert team of sculptors and artists capturing Dinklage’s measurements and likeness, as well as selecting the perfect matching hair and eye color for his wax figure. The session lasted more than two hours and over 250 measurements were taken. The figure is valued at approximately $350,000.

When asked about his wax figure reveal, Dinklage said, “The way you think of yourself and how you look is very different from how everyone else sees you, I believe. So, it is going to be strange to see what other people see.”

Dinklage recalls visiting the Madame Tussauds attraction in London during his first trip to the city in high school. “You go to the Hard Rock Cafe and you go to Madame Tussauds,” he said.

Dinklage is best known for his role as Tyrion Lannister in the HBO fantasy epic, “Game of Thrones,” where he is a member of one of the wealthiest and most powerful families on the show. He won an Emmy Award in 2011 and 2015 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, as well as a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film in 2011.

The Peter Dinklage wax figure is not finished yet and Madame Tussauds has not announced when it will be unveiled. Madame Tussauds is open at 10 a.m. 365 days a year, located in Fisherman’s Wharf at 145 Jefferson Street.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 24 on HBO.
