Chinese startup Vernee is expanding its smartphone line-up.

Vernee announced today that there will be an Apollo Lite joining its flagship Vernee Apollo smartphone. The Vernee Apollo Lite will run on the MediaTek Helio X20 10-core CPU, but offer less storage with 32GB and a lower quality camera system. The Apollo features 128GB of storage. The lower storage is reflected in the price for the Apollo Lite.

The Vernee Apollo Lite has a price-tag of $199.99. This is $200 less than the Apollo. The features of the Apollo Lite include Helio X20 (MT6797), 5.5-inch FHD Arc screen, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP camera, 5MP front camera, USB-C, Dual-SIM and Android 6.0.

The $399.99 Vernee Apollo features in contrast include Helio X20 10-core CPU and comes with over the top configuration including 5.5 inch 2k high definition display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and 21.0MP Sony IMX230 rear camera.

The Apollo Lite is interesting for users who want the speed of the X20, but do not require a lot of storage and a high-end camera.

The Apollo Lite is supposed to ship in May. Vernee has started to sell the Thor smartphone. It is available at a discount right now selling for $99.99 instead of $119.99. The Vernee Thor runs on a 8-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz CPU, 3GB RAM and 16GB storage.
