The Nissan GT-R surpassed itself recently in the form of the speediest drift ever recorded. It was a Guinness record that this vehicle broke and that in itself is quite a feat.

Racing cars have their maneuvers that leave the audiences gasping in sheer adrenaline junkie fashion. Take the Nissan GT-R. Recently, the pro race car driver Masato Kawabata handled this baby with ease and a deft series of techniques.

The venue was the UAE. The previous record of drifting was broken by 53 mph, according to AutoCar. Even Nissan’s own personal best of 186 mph was left way behind.

It was a 3 km long runway that was the place of the passionate car-play. Kawabata was the ideal person to do the job since he has a record that is not bad at all. He is a prominent drift racer of Team Tokyo. The man is dynamite. As for the car, it was juiced up before it was ready for the track.

Everything including safety precautions were ticked away on the checklist prior to the race to the finish line. Jakub Przygonski was the previous record holder.

His feat was accomplished in a Toyota GT86. However, Kawabata snatched victory from the jaws of defeat this time around. It is something for which he deserves all the praise in the world.
