The new trailer of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows features a new plot, new villains and new characters.

The last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were somewhat a disappointment for the fans who have been treated to earlier feature movies of the much beloved characters in the past with a lot of Turtle face time.

The movie featured the mutant turtles in parts with Megan Fox’s April O’Neil character taking much of the TV screen time and not even then, did she manage to impress the fans.

Maybe the production was trying to save on CGI. Not everyone is Marvel but Michael Bay and Nickelodeon promised more Turtle face-time in the sequel and that’s what we’re getting in the trailer as well.

The trailer starts with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Leonardo aka Leo, Raphael aka Raph, Donatello aka Don and Michelangelo aka Mikey arguing about joining a Halloween parade. But the obvious part is that they have been instructed to stay in the shadows while a new imminent threat, nothing like that they have ever seen before comes knocking at the door and April O’ Neil in a bleached blonde wig has knowledge of what is happening.

After turning her ensemble into a skimpy outfit, she witnesses an evil warlord giving some kind of purple serum to that turns two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop played by Gary Anthony Williams and Rocksteady played by WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly into mutated rhinoceros and horned hog by mad scientist, Baxter Stockman played by Tyler Perry.

April manages to snag a vial of the purple serum and is saved by her pursuers by masked vigilante Casey Jones played by Stephen Amell. We see the turtles facing a crisis while they consider the options that the serum would help them turn back into humans and they lose their mojo for a while as they are double minded.

After some advice by Splinter, the turtles team up to fight and defeat the evil villains as they wreak havoc on the city. There are some cool fighting scenes and the Turtles are even sky diving although Don’s turn ends up smacking onto a plane’s windshield.

The good thing is that the turtles are coming back and this time we might see more of them. There are charged up villains that are true to the original and we get to watch more Stephen Amell without the bow and arrow although he is maintaining his vigilante status.
