April 22 marsk Earth Day 2016. Apple has released a new commercial featuring the company's news star, Liam.

Last month Apple introduced Liam. The recycling robot proved to be very popular. Now Liam is back in a new Apple commercial for Earth Day 2016. In the commercial Siri asks Liam what he is doing for Earth Day. He is of course doing what he does every day - recycle iPhones.

Apple is pushing several initiatives to become as green as possible for a consumer electronics company. The Liam robot is a great marketing tool, but until we see a whole plant full of Liam robots, the impact Liam has is marginal. A week ago Apple revealed that they harvested gold worth over $40 million from recycled iPhones last year.

The current recycling process does not rely on Liam yet. Watch below the new Apple commercial for Earth Day 2016.

Apple's new commercial starring Taylor Swift has been a break out viral hit online. The Apple Music commercial showing Swift falling on a treadmill has been viewed so far almost 16 million times since its release on April 1.
