Get a glimpse into the life of the Obama’s first date in the trailer for Southside With You.

Barack and Michelle Obama have often made us swoon over their relationship. They are one of the examples of a modern perfect couple who support each other and love each other.

Even now, when Obama’s presidency is coming to an end, the couple looks stronger than ever, but every super couple has to start somewhere and that is what we are getting to see in the trailer for Southside With You.

The trailer for the movie Southside With You stars Tika Sumpter as Michelle and Parker Sawyers as Barack. We see the 1989 Chicago where Barack is driving in an old car while Michelle is getting ready and her mother teases her about going on a date.

She tells him that he is a summer associate and he came from Harvard Law. She tells her father that he invited her to a community even and his name is Barack Obama and he is perplexed.

She meets him outside the house and tells him that he’s late. He is gutted that she noticed that and she reminds him that he was late for the first day of work as well so she expected it.

She reminds him that she is the advisor so she’s supposed to notice. She notices rusting in his car, but says nothing. He drives her around and she asks him that they are supposed to be going to the event when he says that they have some time so they can head to a gallery, see some paintings and grab a bite to eat.

She tells him that this is not a date. She says that how’s it gonna look if she starts dating the first cute black guy that walks in on the scene and all he hears is that he’s cute.

In the rest of the trailer, we see the young Barack and Michelle going around different places, talking about their goals and the changes that they want to make in the world, their ambitions and their tastes which lead to the conclusion that they have similar interests and a kiss.

It’s a trailer that puts a smile on your face and makes you wanna go see the movie. The movie has been written and directed by Richard Tanne and executive produced by John Legend and hits theaters on August 19.
