Smartphones on fire might not be something of the past, but it surely is of considerable notion now. The chances of that happening might be rather less, but it is possible for Samsung Galaxy S6 owners.

The Reddit user ‘needs_tree_fiddy’’s S6 started blazing in fumes while it was plugged in and charging through the official charger provided. Now this is very surprising since charging from some third party charger might be something we would have consumed with a little less shock. The charger was the original one provided by the company itself, but for a Samsung Galaxy S3.

The phone was lying next to his bed and he woke up to fuming sounds that started erupting from it. Luckily no one was injured in the event but the probability of something like this shall surely take you away from smartphones for some time at least. Well that’s for others to think if charging your phone will asleep is a good idea or not.

The reason for the fire is still unknown but the only speculations could be that there was some faulty hardware that had reacted this way. Samsung would obviously be waiting to have a look at such a case so that the thing can be improved and made even less possible than ever.

Samsung has however been in the process of getting the customer a new phone as a replacement.
