Captain America: Civil War manages a win for Disney to bring in a the billion dollar mark for the movie with just 128 days.

Captain America: Civil War is breaking all kinds of records and the Marvel Universe and Disney will be proud of the production feature which has become a worldwide hit. The movie was internationally released last weekend cross various countries and earned millions of dollars but all eyes were on the domestic release of the movie and the movie has performed beyond expectations.

Fandango had reported that Captain America Civil War had sold a record amount of pre-booked tickets which led to the speculation that even though the film only earned $25 million on its Thursday night opening, it will reap in a lot more over the weekend. The rough estimate was $180 million for the movie with which it hoped to become a part of the all-time high earning movies.

The movie has earned $181.79 million upon domestic release and $220 million to its second weekend internationally. The film has now reached the aggregate of $496.6 million overseas and $678.4 million worldwide making it the fifth highest opening weekend and the third largest premiere for Marvel Comic Universe right after the Avengers movie. It is also a critical favourite with 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has seen over 90% increase from Captain America Winter Soldier.

The movie has also helped Disney to cross the billion mark by helping Disney earn $1.121 billion to date in just 128 days, according to BoxOfficeMojo. It also helped top the $2 billion mark internationally with $2.22 billion to date and $3 billion globally with $3.341 billion to date. Civil War has also helped Hollywood earn $3.856 billion through this weekend which 7.8% ahead of the same point last year. The movie is expected to keep earning and cross the $300 million mark by next weekend.
