Yesterday Hyperloop One announced $80 in funding and today the startup showed off a test of the propulsion system in the Nevada desert. The race is on between Hyperloop One and Hyperloop Transport Technologies.

The demonstration shows on a test track how the Hyperloop pod would get accelerated at the begin of the journey inside the vacuum tube. The test is over very quickly as the test pod reaches about 400mph.

CNBC shared a good video of the Hyperloop propulsion test. Hyperloop One said that they are not offering live streaming of the even as the wait for that until their Kitty Hawk moment.

Update: Hyperloop One released a video of the Propulsion test with more details.

The video below published by Hyperloop One earlier shows what is going on during the test.

The Hyperloop is supposed to reach rocket speeds when finished of about 750mph. The system is an idea of Elon Musk. He is just too busy to do it by himself, so he just put the concept out there for others to make it a reality to travel from LA to San Francisco in 30 minutes. This future is supposed to begin in 2021.
