Star Trek Beyond New Trailer is Here
  • Star Trek Beyond Trailer Released

Star Trek Beyond trailer released over fan event with new cast and roles highlighted throughout.

Star Trek Beyond has really been lacking in the advertising department. After the sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, to the original reboot hit Star Trek the franchise seems to be suffering a lot. Especially when director JJ Abrams switched ships to direct Star Wars Episode VII. There has been no press tours from the cast or various teasers and merchandise to promote the movie.

It might seem understandable that the director for the third instalment of the franchise, Justin Lin took it upon himself at a fan event. He introduced the movie to the fans and announced that the movie will be released in IMAX across the country at this year’s Comic Con in San Diego. There might be no bigger event in the country and it is a smart move to get great earnings as all fans will show up for the event anyway.

The announcement was followed by the trailer for the movie. This time we see Chris Pine’s James Kirk questioning himself. We hear a Hamlet like monologue saying that his father had joined the Star Fleet because he intended to and he had joined it for a dare.

He is told by Simon Pegg’s Scotty or Karl Urban’s Leo McCoy that he should stop trying to be his father and start being himself. This is where James seems to be reflecting on the point of being when their ship comes under attack from an alien fleet who bombard their ship and while some of them escape, the rest of Kirk’s crew is taken hostage by an evil alien played by Idris Elba.

Scotty meets another warrior played by Sofia Boutelli who claims that she know why they are all stranded on an unknown land. Uhura warns the new bad guy that their Captain will come to rescue them and an action sequence ensues where we get two messages, fear of death keeps us alive and unity is a weakness to which James replies that the antagonist has underestimated humanity.
