Xiaomi Mi Drone Announcement Live Video Stream Details
Mi Drone

The Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi will unveil its first Drone today. Find out how to watch the announcement.

Chinese electronics maker Xiaomi will enter the drone market today. At an event scheduled to take place at 7pm Beijing time (7am ET), the Mi Drone will be unveiled. Xiaomi has released a teaser video revealing some of the design details of the Mi drone earlier this week. The Mi drone is not a toy.

Xiaomi's first drone is a quad copter with a 4K video camera module in the shape of a sphere. The Mi Drone is going head to head with also China based DJI in semi-professional mid-range. The price of the Mi drone depends highly on the key capabilities such as range. Bloomberg reports that the Mi Drone will be 20% cheaper than a DJI Phantom 3 4K drone. The price of the Mi Drone is 4,000 yuan (~$610).

Update 2: Hugo Barra is unboxing the Mi Drone Live Now.

UPDATE: Mi Drone 4K is only $457 and the Mi Drone HD is $380!

Xiaomi will launch the Mi drone first in China. It could take until fall until the company will offer their drone in the United States.

The Mi Drone event is streamed online live at Chinese mi.com site starting at 7pm local time. This is 7am ET and 4am PT.

Hugo Barra, Global VP of Xiaomi has announced to show you all you need to know about the Mi Drone on Facebook live at 9AM PST. Barra's presentation is a great alternative to trying following the event in China. We will report from the Xiaomi Mi Drone even as soon as it begins. Stay tuned. The Mi Drone unveiling is only hours away.

The live presentation of the Mi drone is underway, but it is completely in Chinese and more like a Q&A session as far as I can tell. There have been some short clips about the Mi Drone. I will wait until Hugo Barra does his Facebook Live video session at 9am PST.
