The Moto Z modular enhancements just leaked.

Lenovo's Motorola will unveil a new Moto Z with hardware enhancements called MotoMods. The Moto Z is the replacement to the Moto X and leaked last week. Now @evleaks, aka Evan Blass, has leaked a press shot of three MotoMods.

The MotoMods make the Moto Z a modular smartphone similar to the LG G5 Friends. The new Moto Z will come with a series of attachable backplates with functionality including a Pico projector, stereo speakers and camera grip with zoom lens.

The MotoMods shown in the photo show clearly a camera plate on top. Which of the other two is the Pico Projector and stereo speakers is not clear. What is clear though is that the MotoMods are not very stylish. The LG G5 hardware extensions slide into the smarpthone, keeping a sleek look. The MotoMods make the Moto Z just fat and ugly.

Lenovo will unveil the Moto Z and MotoMods on June 9, at the Lenovo Tech World 2016. Lenovo is also expected to unveil a new Motorola RAZR.

Blass also leaked an image showing the Droid branded versions of the Moto Z for Verizon. The Verizon Droid Moto Z will come in three colors: black, silver and gold.

Lenovo's Moto Z (aka Moto X 2016) is rumored to adopt the SnapDragon 820 (Moto Z Style) and the Snapdragon 625 (Moto Z Play). The camera is supposed to be based on a 16MP sensor in the Style and a 13MP sensor in the lower cost Play phone. There has not been a strong leak yet in regards of the specifications. These details are to be taken with a grain of salt.
