Why get a Fitbit, if you can get a Mi Band 2 for twenty bucks?

Xiaomi releases the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker in China on June 7. The Mi Band 2 sells for the same low price of 149 Yuan ($23) as the first Mi Band. The new Mi Band 2 features an OLED display as one major improvement. The Mi Band 2 is a fitness, heart rate and sleep tracker.

Xiaomi's low cost fitness band features an ADI (Analog Devices, Inc.) accelerometer and optical heart rate sensor. The accelerometer is supposed to be military-grade. The new Mi Band has improved pedometer algorithms and a hypoallergenic silicone band. You only need to charge the Mi Band 2 every 20 days. It is of course IP67 water resistant.

The OLED display on the Mi Band 2 displays time, steps, heart-rate and pace while running.

The surface of the Mi Band 2 is resistant to scratches and fingerprint. The menu button is an ultra-thin (0.05mm) anodized part. The Mi Band 2 runs second generation Bluetooth 4.0.

The Mi Band 2 is also expected to go on sale world-wide like the first Mi Band. The Chinese Mi online store has the Mi Band 2 listed now.
