Samsung Gear IconX Wireless Smart Earbuds Revealed

The Gear IconX Bluetooth fitness tracker earbuds are official.

The German Bragi Dash just got challenged heads on by Samsung with the announcement of the Gear IconX. The Samsung Gear IconX are wireless Bluetooth earbuds with built-in fitness tracker and music player functionality.

Gear IconX enables tracking of fitness data such as distance, speed, duration, heart rate and calories burned, and syncs with Samsung's S Health.

Wearers can rely on a Voice Guide feature that provides instant voice feedback on the user’s workout progress and provides a standalone music listening experience.

The internal storage allows to store up to 1,000 songs, giving IconX users the freedom to go running without bringing a smartphone. Specifications of the Gear IconX include 4GB storage, accelerometer, Heart-rate sensor, capacitive touch, P2i nano coating, Bluetooth 4.1.

We will have to wait until fall, if the IconX are performing better than the Bragi Dash. Reviews showed that the Dash has connectivity problems caused by the limitations of lower power Bluetooth.

The Samsung Gear IconX will be available beginning in Q3 2016 for $199. Samsung also launched the Gear Fit2, available this month.
