Norway, which is considered to be one of the most progressive countries in the world, has decided to prohibit the use of gas-powered cars by 2025.

Norway is about to take significant actions to outlaw the use of vehicles powered by gas. It was reported by local newspaper Dagens Næringsliv that Norway is solemnly planning to ban the sale and purchase of automobiles that run on gas and diesel.

They will no more be available in the market by 2025. Four prominent political parties are in favour of this idea and they want it to be a component of their national energy plan.

Discussions have taken place on this topic for months and it will take some time before it will be finally implemented. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla seems to be content on hearing this big news.

He has excitedly tweeted a picture of the local newspaper with the heading that clearly says that gas-powered cars are not to used anymore and will be completely forbidden by 2025.

A total ban by the year 2025 is an assertive timeline to be given to the sellers, buyers and users. Norway is the only country that is having 24% of its vehicles in the form of electric cars.

It is trying to lower the use of fuel-based automobiles. Even the percentage of electric cars used in the US is very low if we compare it with the percentage of electric cars used and sold in Norway.
