Volkswagen is said to be preparing a car that will compete with the new BMW i3.

Trying to get regain its dwindling image in the case of smart cars, Volkswagen is working on an idea to bring an all-electric vehicle this year. The concept of this car will be unveiled in Paris Motor Show that is due in a few months in September.

This car will be called NUVe and it will be built on a modular MEB Chassis, according to BMWBlog. This concept car will be a five door hatch car with wide interior and cabin space. It is supposed to go on a head on competition with BMW i3 which is an all-electric car by the brand.

Not much details about its other features are in view these days. Things such as performance, specs and the looks will be revealed later by the company. It looks like that the car will be available for sale in year 2019. Most of the EV cars are priced below or around $40,000. However we can see an increase in pricing if the car gives a more efficient performance.

The NUVe project is one of the six concepts that are under consideration by Volkswagen. There are good chances that the car will be produced by the company in coming years.
