Chinese supplier says that Apple will add a deep or dark blue color option to iPhone 7.

The iPhone 7 line-up might feature a new color. A report citing a source from a Chinese supplier, Apple is introducing a dark blue colored iPhone 7. A render of a dark blue iPhone 7 is supposed to represent this new iPhone color.

The report on Chinese IT Home goes further claiming that dark blue will replace the space grey option. That does not seem plausible as space grey is a popular color option as far as we know. It is definitely my favorite color in the absence of black. A dark blue could be a nice addition to the iPhone colors that include silver, space grey, gold and rose gold. It is definitely more attractive than rose gold.

To introduce a new color with the iPhone 7 makes sense, as it is one easy thing to add to make the iPhone 7 appear different to the iPhone 6S. As reported the design of the iPhone 7 is matching for the most part the iPhone 6S.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 7 in a media event on September 13. The iPhone 7 will have more performance and dual lens camera system in some models. The storage capacity might finally start at 32GB and go up to 256GB.
