Tesla introduces less expensive S60 and 60D models in the market starting at $66K.

Tesla’s Model 3 has gained immense popularity due to its looks and figures. This car has the range of 200 plus miles in one charge. Along with that it has a top speed of 130 mph, which is not common in electric vehicles. The car has a powerful engine too that lets it go from 0 to 60mph in just 5.5 seconds.

Tesla got this high range per charge after it exchanged the older battery versions with 75 kW battery option in the electric cars. However now Tesla is bringing back the option of 60kWh pack option too. This option will be seen in the S60 and S 60D models. The S60 which will be offered in rear-wheel drive and 60D which will be offered in all-wheel drive will have this option.

As these models will showcase a lower power battery then S70 so their price will be lower as well. The rear-wheel model S60 starts from $67,200 (with destination) while the all-wheel drive S 60D is available at $76,200. Both of these cars have $4000 cut from the original price due to an inclusion of 69kWh battery. However these models won’t be able to attain the range of 234 and 240 miles like that of S70 and 70D.

If the buyers are willing to pay more than they will be able to get a bigger battery thus providing more range for the car. Tesla has another option for battery too. This battery has the power of 90kWh. If one can pay for it they can have the software upgraded in the car and can get the longest range. This battery is however only available in model X right now. The model X comes with 75kWh and 90kWh batteries.
