Alibaba founder Jack Ma surprises with candid revelation.

China's richest man wanted a simpler life. Jack Ma reportedly said that creating Alibaba was his biggest mistake in life. He made that statement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016 (SPIEF 2016) last week according to the Hong Kong Standard.

Ma said that his goal was to create a small business and never thought that Alibaba would grow that big and change his life. If Ma had the chance to start over again he would not create Alibaba again. He wishes for a simpler life. Maybe it was just the Russian Vodka talking.

You will not hear such comments, at least in public, from the Google founders or Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

Jack Ma also said according to the summary of his speech, that he prepares to retire as he does not want to work until old age. The 51-year-old does not appear the type of guy who can switch off and do nothing.

Earlier this month, Jack Ma still touted his big plans for Alibaba. He wants the Alibaba Group to become the equivalent of the world’s fifth-richest country in four years. According to TechCrunch, he made these comments at the Alibaba Group Investor Day. I guess he will need to postpone his retirement to achieve this lofty goal.
