Chinese consumer electronics company unveiled today a new electric bicycle in China.

Last year Xiaomi invested in electric bicycle startup YunBike. Today Xiaomi unveiled their latest creation, the Mi QiCycle. The QiCycle is a folding electric bicycle selling for 2,999 Yuan, about $450. The stylish electric bike has a patented folding mechanism.

The battery is inside the horizontal part of the frame. It's a 18,650mAh Lithium battery from Panasonic that is good for a 45km (28miles) range. The maximum speed of the Mi QiCycle is 20km/h (12.5mph) using a 250W electric motor integrated into the front wheel. The battery of the QiCycle is charged in 3 hours.

The aluminum bike weighs in at about 13kg (28.7lbs). The QiCycle features a Shimano gear system and an integrated display for speed and battery data.

Chinese consumers can order the Mi QiCycle in four different colors starting today. When and if Xiaomi will offer the QiCycle outside of China is not known.
