Apple’s announcement yesterday to stop producing the Thunderbolt Display left many in wonderment about its replacement. According to a tweet made by Buzzfeed’s John Paczkowksi on the basis of information he had gathered from unspecified sources that a replacement display for the Thunderbolt is in work.

Another interesting thing that we learned was the fact that Apple was planning to integrate GPU within the display which would be pretty awesome. This would solve the problem that devices with less powerful GPU’s face in terms of moving larger number of pixels on a bigger Apple display.

The rumor behind this GPU integrated screen has been there for quite some time now in addition to reports that the announcement of a 5K display has not been made because it’s no easy task to operate something with such a paramount number of pixels.

But if Apple succeeds in integrating this GPU then even low end MacBook’s will be compatible with a 5K display. We can expect Apple to accompany this announcement of a new display with a new MacBook Pro lineup.

Apple can be unpredictable so we shouldn’t be overly confident with our bets.
