Cardiac disease remains a major killer in modern times. Most patients who end up in the cardiac ward eat hospital food that consists of cereals, white bread and jams and marmalades loaded with sugar.

Many of the patients had the innate intelligence to question such a counterintuitive diet. They asked the doctor doing the rounds regarding how they could escape the heart health dilemma if they were being fed the same garbage that got them in this mess in the first place.

Add to this the triple whammy of white flour, potatoes and rice, and you have an epidemic of obesity and heart disease. These are all comfort foods that immensely harm the body.

Fat has been demonized till the breaking point, whereas it is the high sugar, low fat diet that has caused most of the diseases of affluence found in the West.

Besides obesity, diabetes is the ultimate outcome of these unnatural foods. Is it any wonder that many people feel tired all the time and have brain fog.

They are riding the blood sugar roller-coaster thanks to the hidden sugars in their diet. While sugars and starches ought to be cut from the diet, proteins and fats ought to be added.

The overall emphasis ought to be on whole foods. This diet works and the results speak for themselves. The food ought to be unprocessed and contain no refined carbohydrates in it.
