Legend of Tarzan Manages to Make a Good Comeback to the Box Office

Legend of Tarzan manages a good return on the box office coming close to the anticipated earnings.

At a point prior to its release, the Legend of Tarzan starring Alexander Skarsgard, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Walken seemed to be fit for failure. The reason that the experts gave was the persistent performance of Finding Dory on the box office and the release of the Purge Election Year on the same release date.

However, the King of the Jungle has managed to scrape through amazingly through it’s two challenges. Finding Dory has remained unbeaten this weekend and there’s no doubt that it will remain the biggest release of this summer. The movie has hauled in an impressive third week lead with estimated $50.2 million four-day total, bringing the Pixar sequel’s North American total to around $380.5 million after just 18 days in release. Featuring the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Idris Elba, and Ty Burrell, the film is set to be at number one for a few weeks coming as well.

After that was the real race between Legend of Tarzan and The Purge. The Purge has gathered a cult following of its own and the first two parts did really well on the cinema. It has already done a considerable amount of business compared to the original movie. The movie has earned $31.4 million at its three-day finish, coming in at No. 3 with an estimated $34.8 million.

So in between, at no. 2 is David Yates directed Legend of Tarzan. The anticipated fail has really had a good run at the box office. The movie has managed to haul in a solid $38.5 million three-day weekend, adding an estimated $7 million on the Fourth of July for a $45.6 million holiday finish. It is anticipated to make more.

According to EW, top 10 movies at the box office on weekend (July 1-4) are:
