The Mega Millions lottery has a record jackpot for the Friday drawing.

$508 million is not enough to get Donald Trump to drop out of the race for the White House, but half a billion dollars can do a lot of things for you. The Mega Millions Jackpot reached $508 million, after the Tuesday drawing did not produce a winner. This is the 7th largest jackpot in the US history of the lottery.

In January the Powerball had the highest jackpot of all time with $1,586 billion. The next Mega Millions drawing is on Friday July 8 at 11pm ET. In case that there will be no winner, this Mega Millions Jackpot will quickly rise into the top 3 largest lottery jackpots.

This new record Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling since it was last won at $157 million by Michael Burkett in Washington on March 8. The only other jackpot awarded this year was a $169 million prize won in New York on January 8. That winner, Nancy Viola, was just announced last week by the New York Lottery.

You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. Keep in mind that they Mega Millions lottery odds are totally against you with 1 in 258,900,000.
