Walmart's $179 Laptop Deal

Walmart has launched today the first offensive against the Amazon Prime Day 2016 sale.

Walmart has launched a wave of new deals today designed to counter Amazon's Prime Day activities. Earlier this month, Walmart announced to offer the ShoppingPass free delivery subscription 30-days for free. In the announcement Walmart made several comments that have been geared towards Amazon's July plans.

While Amazon is hosting the Prime Day Countdown sale, Walmart raises attention with a $179 Windows 10 Laptop from Acer and the Nintendo 2DS is $79.

The laptop deal is on a Windows 10 Asus Dark Blue 14-inch EEEBOOK E402SA-DS01-BL powered by an Intel Celeron N3050 Dual-Core Processor, 2GB Memory, 32GB Flash Storage. This is typical Cloud computer with little local storage. The performance is ok because of the SSD drive. The battery life is great with 32h. Find the $179 laptop on

The $79 2DS deals include systems bundled with a game. The Nintendo 2DS with Mario Kart 7 Game and Nintendo 2DS with Yo-Kai Watch Game qualify for the low $79 price, known from Black Friday of last year. Find the Nintendo 2DS deals on

Walmart also offers the latest Apple TV 64GB for $40 off. The Apple TV 32GB is $20 off.

Walmart launched the "Back to College Sale" and also lists thousands of slashed prices. We expect though that this is just the beginning and Walmart will ramp up its deals early next week to spoil the Amazon Prime 2016 Day as much as possible. To do that Walmart would need to offer extreme low priced TV deals. Let's see if that happens. In any case, this competition is just what deal hunters need.
