Taylor Swift tops the Forbes Top 100 list of the top earning celebrities with a whopping $170 million.

It’s the year of the Swift it seems and it keeps getting better and better. Taking the reins from arch nemesis Katy Perry, Taylor Swift did one up and came out at the number one spot on the Forbes Highest Paid Celebrities 100 list.

The list accounted for all the earnings of the celebrities from June 2015 to June 2016. Taylor’s 1989 World Tour accounted for the major portion of her earnings.

The star also gained a lot of prominence with her album release and Grammy wins earlier this year. Although she is way behind last year’s winner Floyd Mayweather with $300 million but she managed the top spot by a wide margin compared to competition.

Next on the list was the boy band group One Direction with $110 million which might be their last collection as a group. Author James Patterson came in third with $95 million while Portuguese football star Christiano Ronaldo tied at the fourth spot with celebrity counselor Dr. Phil with $88 million apiece.

The other female musician to make it to the top 10 is Adele with $80.5 million which is still great. Adele released her album later last year and her tour is still currently underway.

The total earnings at the end of her tour might be more than Taylor’s but for now Taylor has the top spot. Other football celebrity in the Top 10 list is the Argentinian star Lionel Messi with $81.5 million. Katy Perry, who was last year's top-earning musician at $US135 million, dropped to number 63 on this year's list, earning $US41 million.

Other musicians on the list include Madonna at No.12 with $76.5 million, Rihanna at No.13 with $75 million) AC/DC at No.17 with $US67.5 million and The Rolling Stones at No.18 with $66.5 million. Taylor's former beau, musician Calvin Harris, also made the cut coming in at number 21 ($US63 million).
