New Pokemon Go map app Poke Location and Radar Pro Pokemon Go jumps to top of the Paid Apps within a day.

JK2Designs LLC launched Poke Location & Radar Pro Pokemon Go app on July 18 for $0.99. This Pokemon Go companion app is now the top paid app in iTunes. There is not a single review yet available of this app. There is no app description besides that this app will help you find any Pokemon you want.

We just covered the free Poke Radar app, which is the number 2 most downloaded free app on iTunes just after Pokemon Go. Why Pokemon Go trainers pay the 99c for the Poke Location & Radar Pro Pokemon Go app is unclear. It appears that anything with "Pokemon Go" in the app title is getting downloaded like crazy because of the incredible high numbers of Pokemon Go trainers.

Update: The app is now ranked at #25 under paid apps. It only briefely was at the #1 spot. Either this was a fluke, or there was a sudden surge in downloads.

The Poke Radar app is up front with how it works. It is community driven. Users are reporting the locations of Pokemon including the rare Pokemon and you can search for them in your neighborhood. Where the Poke Location & Radar Pro Pokemon Go app gets the information where Pokemon are is unknown.

Niantic is keeping its data locked. There is no API for third parties to tap into and offer apps like a Pokemon Radar.

As a service to our readers, we spent the $0.99 and downloaded the Poke Location & Radar Pro Pokemon Go app for the iPhone to find out how it workss. Well, turns out that the Poke Location & Radar Pro Pokemon Go app relies on user reported sightings as well.

This Poke radar app works, but it is unclear how it compares in quality and amount of Pokomen sightings to the free Poke Radar app. The developers of Poke Radar are warning on their site that their app may run into a limit with Google Maps API calls. This can lead to the app not responding. Eventually Poke Radar might have to switch to a paid app model as well to pay for the Google Maps API usage.

If you have an app idea attached to Pokemon Go, now is the time to develop. A simple Pokemon Go Pokemon map app has just taken the top spot in paid apps on the app store, pushing down established apps including "Minecraft" and "Heads Up!".

Pokemon Go has been rolled out to most areas in the world, besides Asia. The latest country that has been officially launched is Canada. Pokemon Go has started to launch on July. Pokemon Go maker Niantic struggled to keep up with the demand, causing servers to go down several times since the launch. Hackers are threating to attack the Pokemon Go servers.

The startup has to fight on several fronts to keep Pokemon Go a great experience. Besides having Nintendo involved, Niantic is a startup with rather modest funding. The success of the game has Nintendo's market value doubled since July 6.
