Leslie Jones returned to Twitter after she had left the social media site when she faced an onslaught of hatred and racist tweets.

Leslie Jones is one of the stars of the newly released Ghostbusters movie. Even though the movie has faced a lot of hatred and misogyny from the fans of the original franchise and others, it went off the roof when the fans started to target Leslie Jones.

The comedian plays the role of Patty in the movie and owns some of the funniest scenes in the movie. Yet, on the premiere of the movie, she complained that most designers had refused to dress her for the red carpet.

She still dazzled in an amazing red dress and sparkling jewelry all over. Following that, Leslie started to receive tweets on her account about the movie, her performance and overall racist and misogynist messages so much saw that Leslie reacted to them in hurt words. Twitter was persuaded by many to take action against those who were targeting the star but none was taken.

Atlast, Leslie decided to leave Twitter with a heavy heart. “I leave Twitter tonight with tears and a very sad heart,” Jones wrote on Tuesday. “All this cause I did a movie. You can hate the movie but the s— I got today… wrong.”

Many other stars like Chrissy Tiegen supported Leslie along with numerous fans who started hashtag in her name, #LoveForLeslieJ.

Seeing all the support from fans and celebrities, Leslie decided to come back after a one day hiatus from Twitter. She came back with style, tweeting, “Welp… a bitch thought she could stay away,” the Ghost Busters star tweeted. “But who else is gonna live tweet Game of Thrones!!”

She followed with another tweet in which she wrote, Thanks for the love and support I received! made me feel real special See you later on @sethmeyers #LoveForLeslieJ.
