Samsung Gear VR SM-R323 with USB-C Surfaces ahead of Note 7 Launch

The popular Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset needs updating for the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2. One of the new features of the Note 7 is an USB-C port instead of microUSB. The current Gear VR only supports microUSB. Samsung has though a new Gear VR version ready to go with the Note 7 launch. Roland Quandt, via SamMobile has spotted the Gear VR SM-R323 listed for 90 Euro at some retailers.

The existance of the Gear VR SM-R323 has been known several weeks as import documents surfaced on Zauba. The current model of Samsung's popular mobile VR headset has the model number SM-R321. There will likely not be any other difference besides the USB-C plug.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features an Iris scanner, 6GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 5.8-inch AMOLED screen (2560x1440), USB-C, 64GB/128GB/256GB storage, stylus, 3,600mAh, 12MP camera, 5MP front camera and IP68 Water and Dust Resistance.

In some regions the Note 7 is already available for pre-order.
