iPhone 6SE is 2016 iPhone, not iPhone 7

Apple reportedly calling iPhone 7, iPhone 6SE.

We have considered for a while that there is a possibility that Apple will not name the 2017 iPhone "iPhone 7." The design of the new iPhone stays in the language of the iPhone 6S. Apple might reserve the iPhone 7 name for the fully redesigned 10th anniversary iPhone in 2017. It can go either way. Either Apple prepares for a full version change in 2017, but naming the new iPhone to go on sale on September 16, iPhone 6SE or name the iPhone in 2017 iPhone 8.

We see with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that skipping a full version number is possible. German Apple blog Apfel page reports that they hear from the Chinese iPhone accessory industry that packaging is already produced with the iPhone 6SE name on it. So far there are no leaks that support this rumor.

The iPhone 6SE name has merit, but there is no proof that Apple is taking that route. What I don't like about it is when used with the Plus and Pro variants of the new iPhone. "iPhone 6SE Plus" is a mouthful.

Apple introduced the "SE" moniker in the iPhone SE, which is an iPhone 5 with iPhone 6S technology inside.

The iPhone 6SE aka iPhone 7 goes on sale on Friday, September 16, according to the latest rumors.

Leaked parts show that the iPhone 6SE has a streamlined design with more eye-pleasing solutions for the antenna lines and the camera lens mount. The most controversial feature of the iPhone 6SE is actually a lack of a feature. Apple is removing the 3.5mm audio jack. Headsets for the iPhone 7 will need to use the digital Lightning port or Bluetooth.

Apple is likely to bundle Lightning EarPods with the iPhone 7. Reports about Apple bundling an Lightning to 3.5mm audio jack adapter are ludicrous. If Apple is not bundling a Lightning EarPods, then the company completely lost its way. Nothing about an adapter is clean and simple.

The iPhone 6SE will offer new levels of performance with the new A10 CPU and the camera is also going to be yet again better. Apple is also finally giving the entry-level iPhone 7 32GB of storage.
