The South Korean electronics giant will unveil a new Gear S smartwatch at the IFA 2016.

Samsung is reportedly introducing a new smartwatch at the IFA 2016 in Berlin early September. The new Gear S3 will have the signature rotary bezel again reports Sam Mobile. Today the "Gear S3 Frontier" name just surfaced in the trademark database in South Korea.

What "Frontier" means in the trademark is unclear. The Gear S3 Frontier could though be special rugged outdoor version of the Gear S3. Nothing has leaked yet about the improvements Samsung will introduce in the Gear S3 over the Gear S2 unveiled in 2015. Samsung might add LTE for use without a smartphone, Samsung Pay and more. Samsung is on a roll right now. Not only in terms of smartphone sales, but also innovation.

Samsung has found its own way in the Smartphone segment with the Gear S smartwatch line running the home grown Tizen OS. The rotary bezel is a nice alternative to Apple's digital crown.
