Formula E Car Gets Stunning New Front Wing
  • Here’s the New Look for Formula E season 3 Racer

Formula E comes up with a new look for new season.

The third season of Formula E will start this year from 9th October in Japan. This all-electric racing event is going to capture the attention of many race car enthusiasts all over the world.

We have been looking at the same kind of Formula E from the past many years. However this time, the company has allowed a few changes to be made in the electric car. The cars will get lighter and much better with the incorporation of these features.

The cars will perform differently as many changes have been made to the performance attributed techs as well. Along with that fans will see a clear difference in the shapes of cars as well.

The front end looks totally new. It has gotten a new two tier front wing. It’s pretty tall as well because it can be seen through the driver’s seat. These changes have given the Formula E car “a unique visual identity” as claimed by the company.

The weight of car will drop from 888 kilograms to 880 kilograms. Along with that it will have a power output of 200kWh. The next season will see an output of 220kWh and the season five will see an output of 250kWh. The regenerative braking system is going to increase by 150 kW.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said that Formula E always makes sure that its cars are unique in both performance and looks too. It is the right time that Formula E has upgraded the looks of its E cars too.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag, said, “Formula E aims to be different, and this new front wing creates a look that’s different to every other car out there. I think this is a great addition to our car and further emphasises the fact that this is a modern, forward-thinking championship that is taking a completely different approach to all other racing series.”

FIA President Jean Todt, said, “The FIA Formula E Championship is not just a great environment in which to develop a completely electric powertrain with new battery technologies, but it is also a platform for experimenting with innovative solutions when it comes to designing single-seater racing cars.”

Reigning Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi (Renault e.Dams), added, “I like the look of the new front wing - it looks a little bit more futuristic, and from inside the car you can see the top part of the wing, so visually for the driver there is also a small change. We want Formula E to look different and be different, and the new wing is a good way of showing that. I don’t think it will make too big of an impact on aero which isn’t in the ethos of this championship - but it’s a good way to show visual development heading to Hong Kong for the start of season three.”

Fans will be able to see the new-look Formula E car first public outing at the opening group test days at Donington Park, here in UK from 24th to 25th August.
