Hollywood Foreign Press happily announce Jimmy Fallon as the host of the 2017 Annual Golden Globe Awards.

After alternating between Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as a pair and Ricky Gervais in the past seven years, the Hollywood Foreign Press was looking for a change on the stage of the Annual Golden Globe Awards. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the Golden Globes from 2013 to 2015.

They hosted for three time in succession with their own unique approach. Ricky Gervais has also been a thrill with no nonsense jokes on the expense of the Press and the celebrities. It got a little awkward this year too when he kept calling the Press out for asking him to host again.

So the Press and NBC needed a friendly and fresh face on the stage. There was no one better than Jimmy Fallon. The host of the most watched late night show on TV, Jimmy has a very happy go lucky ann friendly approach towards the stars. He is spontaneous, a comedian and a performer who can be expected to host the Golden Globes in a fun and interactive way.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt that Jimmy will be hosting the Golden Globes in January at the network's Television Critics Association Summer Tour.

Jimmy confirmed his hosting duties in the upcoming year on his Twitter saying ‘I'm so excited to be hosting The Golden Globes in January’ he then added a pun towards Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in a following tweet saying, ‘And I'm really looking forward to spending time with the Hollywood Foreign Press before Donald Trump has them all deported.’

The Golden Globe awards are one of the most prestigious awards honouring the best in movies and TV.
