Nissan is stepping ahead in the world of transport.

Nissan has been doing a lot of research and development for the past many years in order to bring forth the latest technology of transport that will shape the future. This time Nissan has again gotten to the number one spot by unveiling the First Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Vehicle ever made.

This is a big step towards the mission of zero emission vehicles. This vehicle has the cruising range of 600 km plus with a zero emission rate. It will work on bio-ethanol fuel-cell mode.

Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn shared that this e Bio Fuel Cell vehicle is a very eco-friendly car. This technology will help in creating multiple opportunities for regional energy production. This will also help in developing the new devises in the existing features for bio fuel cell technology.

According to Nissan the Ethanol blended water is much safer and easier to use in the vehicles as compared to other types of fuels. Along with that it is said that it if one of the most easy to use fuel.

Nissan’s CEO said that this kind of fuel development has loads of potential for future. They will have to develop a new range of technology in order to make the most of this kind of facility.

Nissan president and CEO Carlos Ghosn said:

“The e-Bio Fuel-Cell offers eco-friendly transportation and creates opportunities for regional energy production…all the while supporting the existing infrastructure. In the future, the e-Bio Fuel-Cell will become even more user-friendly. Ethanol-blended water is easier and safer to handle than most other fuels. Without the need to create new infrastructure, it has great potential to drive market growth.”

Specifications of world’s first Solid-Oxide Fuel Cell Nissan vehicle are:

  • Base vehicle e-NV200
  • Battery capacity 24 kWh
  • Energy source Electricity, Ethanol
  • Tank capacity 30 L
  • SOFC output 5 kW
  • Driving range 600 km-plus

Nissan is already selling the highest ration Zero-emission car of the world in the form of LEAF. Thus getting this prototype on the roads will be another major step taken by company.

The model of this new vehicle will offer a unit that will run on one hundred percent ethanol and will charge a 24kWh battery. It will have a range of almost 600 km which is a great step. Nissan will test the prototype in a few weeks on the road of Brazil.
